Advantage® II is a monthly topical flea control for dogs that kills fleas through contact, so fleas do not have to bite to die. Advantage® II kills fleas rapidly within 12 hours of initial application. Reinfesting fleas are killed within 2 hours with protection against further flea infestation lasting for up to a month. Pyriproxyfen provides the additional benefit of killing flea eggs and larvae to effectively break the flea life cycle. For use on dogs and puppies 7 weeks of age and older, weighing 3 lbs. or more.
Possible Side Effects
Monitor your dog after application. Side effects may include: skin irritation such as redness or scratching; changes in behaviour such as agitation or lethargy; or gastrointestinal effects such as vomiting or loss of appetite.
Precautions
KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. Harmful if swallowed, or absorbed through the skin. Causes eye irritation. Do not get in eyes. Avoid contact with skin or clothing. Wear rubber gloves during application of this product. After handling or applying, wash hands (or any other skin that came in contact with the product), with soap and water. Avoid contact with pets until dry.
PETS: Do not use on animals under 7 weeks of age. Care should be taken to prevent exposure of other pets who may be in close physical contact with the treated animal. Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur after using ANY pesticide product for pets. Smaller animals are more likely to experience an adverse reaction. Observe carefully. If signs persist, or become more severe, consult a veterinarian immediately.
